Gold-leafed GMC truck bench seat, steel, vinyl, timelapse video projection

In this installation, a gold-leafed bench seat from a pick-up truck confronts a video documenting dusk to sunset over the city of Denver, which is projected on a concave screen mimicking the curve of a windshield. Lookout Mountain, Backseat Trophy examines the intervention of the vehicle in our experience with the landscape while positioning the physical landmarks in the landscape as coming of age sites.
